Elk House, North Elkington

2017

A former chapel located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB); whilst not being listed, Elk House is considered an un-designated heritage asset.

Our client sought to replace the conservatory with an extension that would create a more thermally efficient and usable space, whilst at the same time enhancing the appearance of the original building. The design aimed to compliment the chapel with a simple and contrasting style derived from the agricultural buildings prevalent in the area.

The project captures the inherent qualities of the existing site, providing impressive views to the landscape and enhances the distinctive character of the existing house.
